Mt Abu

Rajasthan

An out crop of ancient granite smoothed by weather and time, rises up from the desert planes to 5600ft affording relief to those that go there, from the hot summer sun. No wonder many travel there to take the benefit of the climate and wildlife found on the cracky reaches of Mt Abu. Summer retreat homes are once again popular in this area, as they were during the Raj, although now it has become an attraction to local tourist as well as those from farther afield. An old stone stables with a small keepers lodge on top is transformed into a summer villa.
